What a fun morning we had at the shop!  Lisa's Manos Afghan class began, and we began our day with a fun group of knitters and some absolutely beautiful colors which contrast so beautifully with the snow falling outside our windows.

Other new classes began this week as well; our neckdown wrap cardi from Knitting Pure and Simple is so beautiful, and the pattern is SO well written.  It is truly a joy to knit and we are making progress on this great sweater.  A sample is hanging in the store.  It has been tried on and loved and I can't wait to  have my own to wear whenever I want.  Two Magic loop classes began as well, both Thursday night and Friday morning.  (Knit socks, go to sleep, dream of socks that fit so well, wake up and keep teaching socks in the morning, it works!) We have two really fun groups of girls knitting these. (Men!  You need socks too... where are you?)  Everyone started off silent, serious, and counting, but we were all laughing and chatting before long, so for anyone who has not done this, try it, not so hard.

More classes still have space available, pelase check them out and join us for one or two!  Great way to learn a skill and meet others who share your interest in knitting.  It's always terrific to have designated knitting time, away from all the duties of your home and office.  If you are a self-taught knitter, give a class a try.  Call us for availability.

The Dragon's Tale trunk show is ongoing.  If you haven't seen these great canvasses, you really ought to come in. First of all, they are all fun and beautifully painted.  There are all sorts of animals featured, and I wish I had more hours in the day so I could stitch every single one of them... along with my socks, my sweater, my afghan, and countless UFO's.  (Note to self: keep New Year's resolution to finish the UFO's).  So, as long as I can convince my family that they don't need to eat and the house doesn't need to be perfect, it will all get done.  Any of you out there feel the same way?  Fortunately, there is always time to be found to pursue the arts we love.

Mission Falls: New Beautiful Cotton!  For anyone who has knit with Mission Falls 1824 (either the Superwash Wool or the Cotton), you know this is a VERY good thing.  The colors are so, so pretty.  New solids and multis, each wonderful in its own way.  It is worth taking a look now, starting (and maybe finishing!) a new project for Spring (I did mention the snow falling outside our window, right?), and then checking the Mission Falls again in March when this Trunk Show arrives.  We at the store can't wait to get a look at all of it.  We have several samples made up, so you can see how it knits.

Hello, and welcome to our Blog!  We are happy to be leaping into the 21st century, and combining that with the not-so-old-fashioned crafts of needlepoint, knitting, and crochet will be a lot of fun for all of us.

Welcome to our new "Knotty Girls" from Fairfield.  We love having you here and look forward to getting to know all of you better.  If any of you haven't been here yet, you will find us well worth the trip... we are only about 25 minutes up the road and you can always grab lunch next door at the Sycamore.

To celebrate both our computer-savvy selves, along with making room for new Spring yarns (arriving very SOON!) we are having (drum roll, please)...

Also... we are excited about being on Ravelry.  There is a new group called "A Stitch In Time, Bethel CT."  You just HAVE to join us... there will be news and sales posted there as well as here on our blog.  Ravelry is sooooo much fun.  If you are not a member yet, just go to www.ravelry.com, and there you can sign up.  This is a FREE website, and one of the coolest we have seen on the web.  You can enter a yarn and see what everyone else is doing with it... Or a pattern and read comments by other knitters and crocheters who are making it... It is just fun.  Once you sign up with your screen name and password, an email will come to you "inviting" you to join and then you are set to go.  Try it today!

And finally (big teaser here!) there is a really fun new Sock Club coming to A Stitch In Time featuring exclusive yarns by Tofutsies that will make your friends wish they had joined too!  You can only get this if you are a member of the "Hot Sox Spot".  Better yet, grab a friend and join together.  Details coming up... Keep your eyes on the blog!
